Welcome to another tutorial on Tommy Doan’s Channel! In this video, I will guide you through the process of installing PlayCover, an amazing free iOS emulator for MacBook that works flawlessly with M1 models. A big shoutout to the PlayCover contributors and developers for their excellent work! Let’s dive right in!
Step 1: Download and Install PlayCover
To begin, head over to the official website and download the PlayCover app DMG file. Once the download is complete, simply drag the file into your Applications folder. Now, when you run the app for the first time, you’ll be prompted to install Xcode command line tools. Click the “Install” button to complete the installation process. Congratulations, you have successfully installed PlayCover on your Mac!
Step 2: Configuration
To make mobile apps and games playable on the emulator, you need to make a few configurations. Firstly, you’ll need to disable system integrity protection and enable Apple portable file integrity. Refer to the link in the description to learn how to disable these options. Once you’ve completed the process, navigate back to the PlayCover configuration section. You should now see that both options are disabled, indicating that you have successfully configured PlayCover on your Mac.
Step 3: Create Your App Library
To start enjoying a vast array of apps on PlayCover, you need to create an app library. Visit the specified website and sign up for a new account to gain access to the gallery creation feature. Once you’re logged in, search for the apps you want to install and click on “Add to Library.” After adding apps to your library, copy the provided link and paste it into PlayCover to begin the import process.
Step 4: Install and Configure Apps
Double-click on any application in your PlayCover library to initiate the installation process. Once the installation is complete, it’s time to configure the game settings. Right-click on the game you want to configure and select “Settings.” Pay attention to the graphics tab. If you’re using a Mac Air Model, choose the 3rd generation iPad Pro with 4 GB of RAM and select “Automatic” in the resolution section. For iPad M1 with 8 GB of RAM, choose the iPad M1 option. If you’re using a Mac Pro series, refer to the compatibility settings provided in the description to optimize gaming performance.
Step 5: Test the Performance
Now it’s time to put PlayCover to the test and see how it performs. Try playing a game from your library and observe its smooth performance. As you can see, PlayCover ensures a seamless gaming experience, just like on a real iOS device. Let’s take PUBG, one of the most famous FPS mobile games, for example. I strongly advise against linking your main account with the PlayCover app to avoid any potential account lockdowns. In the next video, I’ll provide you with detailed installation and key setting instructions for this FPS game.
That wraps up this tutorial! I hope you found it helpful. In the next video, I’ll guide you on how to install an Android emulator on Mac M1, so make sure to subscribe to this channel and stay tuned. Thank you all for watching, and I’ll catch you in the next video!
