Introduction

Welcome to Tommy Doan’s YouTube channel! In this video, we will learn how to install PlayCover, a fantastic free iOS emulator for MacBooks that is compatible with M1 models. We would like to express our gratitude to the contributors and developers of PlayCover for their excellent work. Now, let’s dive into the installation process!

Step 1: Download and Install PlayCover

To begin, you need to visit a specific website to download the PlayCover app’s DMG file. Once the download is complete, simply drag the file to your apps folder. When you run the app for the first time, it will prompt you to install Xcode command line tools. Click “install” to complete the installation process. Congratulations! You have successfully installed PlayCover on your Mac.

Step 2: Configuration

However, to make mobile apps and games playable on the emulator, you need to make a few additional configurations. Firstly, you must disable system integrity protection and enable Apple portable file integrity. We have provided a link in the video description that shows you how to disable these options. After you have completed these steps, return to the PlayCover configuration section. You will notice that both options are now disabled, indicating successful configuration.

Step 3: Create and Import Your Library

Next, you need to visit another website to create your library of apps and games. Creating an account will grant you access to the gallery. Search for the desired app or game and click “add to library” when you find it. Copy the gallery link and paste it into your PlayCover to import the app or game. To initiate the installation, simply double-click on the respective application.

Step 4: Configure Game Settings

Once the installation is complete, it’s time to configure the game settings. Right-click on the game and select “settings.” Pay particular attention to the graphics tab. If you are using a Mac Air model, choose the 3rd generation iPad Pro with 4 GB of RAM and select “Automatic” in the resolution section. However, if you are using an iPad M1 or Mac Pro series, opt for the iPad M1 with 8 GB of RAM. Different compatibility settings are available for various models to ensure the best gaming performance.

Step 5: Test Game Performance

Now it’s time to put PlayCover to the test! Launch a game to observe its performance. As you can see, the game runs incredibly smoothly on PlayCover. Let’s take PUBG, one of the most popular FPS mobile games, as an example. However, we strongly advise against linking your main account with these apps. Doing so could result in being locked out of your account. For detailed installation and key setting instructions for this FPS game, please refer to the following video.
